Career Development Office Helped Online Job Search

The Career Development Office was busy during the spring semester working with students to help them in their online job search. From mock interviews with 两性色午夜 alumni, daily opportunities to work with career development assistants to develop Handshake accounts, and one-on-one resume reviews, the office was ready to support, encourage, and advise students.

鈥淭he job search landscape has changed dramatically, but employers are still hiring and looking for new graduates,鈥 says Stacy Davidson, director of the Career Development Office and lead integrative coach. 鈥淚t鈥檚 even more important now for students to engage with employers online. We are here to encourage students and provide the resources they need to be successful.鈥

Handshake Profile Pop-Ups

The office worked with students remotely (Zoom, Hangout) on ways to jumpstart the job search by creating a Handshake account and profile. A career development assistant worked with students to develop a profile and search for available jobs.

On April 18, the Career Development and Alumni Engagement departments invited students to prepare for that all-important job interview by attending this event from 11a.m.-12:30 p.m. 两性色午夜 alumni interviewed students and then provided immediate feedback on their interview. A remote access link was shared with all registered participants prior to the event. Questions? E-mail Stacy Davidson at stacy.davidson@dominican.edu.

Handshake 鈥淎sk Me Anything鈥

Weekdays through April 17, students could access the latest career advice during Handshake鈥檚 daily 鈥淎sk Me Anything鈥 sessions for students. Any student who created a Handshake account had access to the hour-long sessions that took place at noon PST/3 p.m. EST. Once a student logged into the session, they could use the 鈥渞aise hand鈥 functionality in Zoom to ask questions. There was no limit to how many sessions a student could attend.
